Three artists, Mary Lewis Chiodo, Christopher Chiodo and Livia Linden, whose distinct practices—wood, watercolor, and mixed media—offer unique yet complementary explorations of material, process, and expression.
In Falling Trees/Water Rising, Mary Lewis Chiodo examines everyday objects through the interplay of light, shadow, and rich, saturated color. Her paintings combine a keen graphic sensibility with the luminous, expressive qualities of watercolor, offering a fresh perspective on familiar subjects.
Christopher Chiodo’s work in Falling Trees/Rising Water is a collection in different mediums representing our textured relationship with the world. The beauty, complexity and challenge of humanity is on display in this exhibit. The assorted photography, collage and sculpture are a canvas for images and objects both found and made. Some old, some new.
In her recent work, Livia Linden favors materials that are old and scavenged : thrifted clothing, weathered boards, pieces of fallen trees, drift wood.
