Artist Statement

n.massari's work filters introspection and influence through the poetic logic of dreams and the way forgetfulness entrenches experiences into a deeper, more instinctual form of memory. The work in the current exhibition plays with and inverts the idea of nostalgia, which was originally a pathologizing of homesickness as a literal disease. n.massari explores nostalgia as not just that symptomatic longing for what's lost, but also as the things that remain from that lost place and continue to exert influence.
